Ride a quad bike (ATV) or, in winter, a snowmobile through the forest and open mountain above Tsaghkadzor, an hour north of Yerevan. Both machines run the same two routes: a short one out to a cave and back, and a longer climb toward Mount Teghenis that opens onto the view of Mount Ararat and Mount Aragats on a clear day. No licence is needed, helmets are included, and instruction is given in English and Russian — so this works just as well for a first-time rider as for someone who already knows the handlebars.
ATV Tours — Year Round
Quad bikes run through the whole year, which makes this the version most visitors take. In summer and autumn you ride the forest tracks above the resort; in winter the same routes turn into a snow ride.
Snowmobile Tours — Winter Only
Snowmobiles run when there is snow cover on the mountain, broadly the ski season from around mid-November to April, and are weather-dependent by nature. If conditions do not allow a snowmobile on your date, the ATV route is the direct substitute and we will say so honestly before you travel rather than after you arrive.
The Two Routes
Both the ATV and the snowmobile follow the same two itineraries — the difference is the machine under you, not the scenery.
One-Hour Tour — The Cave
About twenty-five minutes of riding out to a cave, time off the machine to explore it, then roughly twenty-five minutes back. It is the short option, but it is a genuine ride rather than a lap of a car park, and it is the one most families and first-time riders choose.
Three-Hour Tour — Teghenis & the Ararat View
The cave route, plus a long climb toward Mount Teghenis and up the mountain. This is the one worth booking if the weather is clear: from the higher ground the panorama opens across to Ararat and Aragats, Armenia's two great landmarks, in a single view. The extra hours are spent riding and looking, not waiting.
Tours routinely run longer than the stated hour or three — riding pace, photo stops and conditions all stretch them. We do not charge extra for the overrun.
Transparent Bubbles — On Request
A quirk worth knowing about: on request we can attach transparent bubbles to the ATV or snowmobile. They are exactly what they sound like and they are purely for fun — most popular with children and with anyone building a group ride into a celebration. Ask when booking and we will have them fitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need a driving licence to ride an ATV or snowmobile? No. No licence is required. You get a full safety briefing and instruction before you set off, in English or Russian.
- How old do you have to be? You must be 18 or over to drive the machine yourself. Younger riders are very welcome as passengers, riding with our instructor or with a family member — the machines are two-seaters.
- Is this suitable for children? Yes, as passengers. It is a family-friendly activity, and the one-hour cave route is the one most families choose.
- What is the difference between the one-hour and three-hour tour? The one-hour tour rides out to a cave, explores it, and returns — roughly twenty-five minutes each way. The three-hour tour does that, then continues toward Mount Teghenis and up the mountain, where on a clear day you get the view across to Ararat and Aragats.
- Can I ride an ATV in summer, or is this winter only? ATVs run year round. Snowmobiles are winter only and depend on snow cover on the mountain, so from roughly mid-November to April.
- What happens if there isn't enough snow for a snowmobile? We tell you before you travel and switch you to the ATV on the same routes, rather than letting you arrive to find the snowmobile cannot run.
- Do the tours really last one or three hours? Usually a bit longer. Riding pace, photo stops and conditions stretch them, and we do not charge extra when they overrun.
- What are the transparent bubbles? An optional add-on that attaches to the ATV or snowmobile, purely for fun. Request them when booking and we will fit them.
- What kind of machines do you use? Two-seaters, 600–850cc, with the exact model subject to availability on the day. Helmets are included for every rider.
- What else can I do in Tsaghkadzor on the same trip? The resort ropeway up Teghenis, the medieval Kecharis monastery, and our ski and snowboard lessons with a licensed instructor — a morning lesson and an afternoon ride is a common combination.
